The landscape design for Heatherhill Beach House, nestled along Denmark's scenic coast, was crafted to harmonize with the surrounding natural beauty and the architectural elegance of Norm Architects' design. Inspired by the rugged coastal environment, the garden embraces a minimalist approach, blending native plants and soft textures to create a seamless transition between the built environment and the wild landscape beyond.
The garden features gentle dunes of ornamental grasses and resilient coastal flora, evoking the windswept heathlands that define this part of Denmark. Hardy species like sea kale, beach roses, and creeping thyme thrive in the salt-kissed air, requiring minimal maintenance while maintaining a natural, organic aesthetic. Carefully selected stones and driftwood accents echo the beach’s proximity, while paths wind through the property, offering serene moments of connection with nature.
In close collaboration with the architecture, the outdoor spaces were designed to complement the house’s clean lines and natural materials, framing views of the sea and sky while providing intimate corners for reflection. Every aspect of the garden aims to create a tranquil retreat that feels as though it has always belonged to this wild, coastal environment. At Heatherhill Beach House, nature and architecture merge to offer a timeless, immersive experience in the Danish landscape.
